Install MyNurse

Two separate installs, and you probably want both. Install the app to put it on your home screen and keep working when the signal drops. Install the browser extension to bring your Canvas and ATI coursework in.

1 · Install the app

Install it to keep practising offline — attempts you take without a signal sync when you reconnect.

iPhone or iPad (Safari)

  • Open this page in Safari — Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot add to the home screen.
  • Tap the Share button.
  • Choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  • Open the new MyNurse icon and sign in once more. The home-screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari; after that it stays signed in while you use it (sign in again after 30 days away, or every 6 months).

Android, or Chrome / Edge on a computer

Use the Install button in the app's top bar, or your browser's install icon in the address bar. On desktop Safari, use Add to Dock from the File menu.

Open the app

2 · Install the browser extension

Needs Chrome on a computer (Mac, Windows or Chromebook), once. Phones cannot run it — and do not need it for Prepare, Textbooks, Notes, Group, Chat or the Canvas calendar feed. The extension is what brings in Canvas courses and assignments, grades, ATI results and course files.

What it sends

Keep Canvas or ATI open in a signed-in tab and press Sync. The extension reads that page and sends the coursework it finds to your account. It never writes to Canvas or ATI, never runs on its own, and never reads or sends your passwords, cookies or session tokens.

Courses, assignments, due dates, your own scores
Read from your signed-in Canvas tab · sent to your account only
ATI assessment results
Read from your signed-in ATI tab · sent to your account only
Passwords, cookies, session tokens
Never read · never sent

If an ATI sync reports 0 rows — parser needs updating, ATI changed its results page. Report it rather than treating the empty result as your score.

Download

Checking whether a package is available…

Install it in Chrome

Unzip it first — Chrome cannot load a zip file, and this is the step everyone gets stuck on.

  1. Unzip the file you just downloaded. Double-click it on a Mac; right-click → Extract All on Windows. You end up with a folder.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome. (You have to type or paste it — it is not clickable from a web page.)
  3. Turn on Developer mode with the switch in the top right.
  4. Click Load unpacked.
  5. Choose the unzipped folder — not the zip, and not a folder inside it. The right folder is the one containing manifest.json.
  6. Pin MyNurse Connector to the toolbar so the Sync button is easy to reach.

Leave Developer mode on. Dismiss the reminder Chrome shows about it at startup.

Pair it with your account

The easy way: open Set up MyNurse in the same browser and press Connect — MyNurse pairs the extension for you, with nothing to copy.

Or by hand: give the extension one pairing token, minted here. It is the only thing the extension stores, it can do nothing but send coursework in, and you can revoke it at any time.

  1. In Chrome, right-click the MyNurse Connector icon and choose Options.
  2. Check the address reads https://mynurse.appmajic.ai/ (without the trailing slash is fine too).
  3. Paste the token and press Save.

Manage tokens in Settings → Connections — when each was last used, and revoke.

Using it

  • Have Canvas — and/or ATI — open in a tab, signed in.
  • Click the extension icon.
  • Press Sync next to Canvas or ATI.

Nothing syncs on a schedule or in the background. Press Sync whenever you want fresh coursework.
